You
may have heard about the infamous Monsanto, producer of GMO foods (and
incidentally Agent Orange, used in the Vietnam War!) - with genetically
modified sterile seeds - trying to take over the world's food production.
Monsanto
virtually forces farmers to buy their sterile seeds, which means that the
farmers cannot "save seeds" in the traditional way, and have to buy more
for each crop.
The
GMO foods have not been correctly tested for human consumption and are,
for the most part, extremely bad for you.
Monsanto
also sues farmers for "patent infringement" in the event that their seeds
blow on to the farmer's lands and take root. Many organic farmers
have been put out of business purely because seeds that they certainly
DON'T want, have landed (without any fault of their own) on their farms.
